You are looking for a tireless person who has a need to finish what they start; the kind of person people count on to get things done. They have a sense of duty and obligation to their employers and are conscientious about the work they perform.
Your ideal employee cares deeply about people and can interact with them easily. They are supportive and sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of the people around them.
You will see this person’s love of routine, sensitivity to timelines, and their need to stay organized. This person is generally trusting and open with excellent coping skills. They are resilient and highly capable of dealing with stressful situations. This person will be seen as helpful, courteous, and kind. They will tend toward being tactful and cooperative.
Who are you looking for? Your next Receptionist–the kind of personality that will put people first and give your customers a great initial impression of your company. How do you find them? What can give you the edge in your pursuit for the perfect cross between Aunt Bee of Mayberry fame and Mash’s Radar?
Try adding a psychometric tool to your selection process and benchmark a profile for your next receptionist. One such tool is the Essentials (e3) assessment. The (e3) is a powerful insight into behavior that takes less than 10 minutes to complete and can be administered anywhere there is an online connection. The next time you are looking for a frontline player, look to a tool like the (e3) to find your best fit.
